Hasipoğlu & Akbilen Law Office (the “Firm”) has two offices, one in Nicosia and the other at Kyrenia.
Established in 1976, the Firm is among the must distinguished and established law firms in Northern Cyprus. The firm has long been one of the leading law firms in Nicosia and has a remarkable reputation for providing its clients an excellent service. In 2004, the firm established its branch in Kyrenia. It has highly developed problem-solving methods and provides quick and inclusive solutions for all clients. The Firm has three partners who are respect established attorneys in Northern Cyprus. Each partner heads a team of at least two associates and two assistants. Instructions are assigned to either of the teams in accordance with various criteria, including specialisation, and where necessary the teams corporate on specific steps or stages of handling the case or the project. We handle various types of disputes, including banking and finance, bankruptcy, commercial, intellectual property, labor, maritime, real estate, securities etc.
2.Foreign Investment/Joint Ventures:
The Firm involved in the establishment of companies, branch offices to subsidiaries and joint ventures. The Firm provides legal assistance on the areas of financing, due diligence inquiries, document negotiation and preparation.

The Firm has extensine experience in intellectual property transactions, information technology and telecommunications.
The Firm mainly focuses on the maintenance and protection of intellectual property rights, trademarks and design rights, patents, copyrights, and misuse of trade secrets.
The Firm also provides legal service concerning the intellectual property aspects of mergers, acquisitions and buyouts, registration of title of trademarks, negotiation and drafting of licensing agreements.

The Firm has represented various international companies in distributorship and agency disputes in Northern Cyprus including termination and/or good will damages. The Firm drafts agency contracts pursuant to Cyprus law and register such contracts before Trade Registry.
III.PARTNERS OF THE OFFICE: 1.Hasan Hasipoglu
Mr. Hasipoglu is the managing partner and focuses his practice on the areas of Banking, Corporate, Debt Recovery, Administrative, Succession, Matrimonial and Real Estate. Mr. Hasipoğlu has also a very well known litigation success at the High Courts of Cyprus.
He has worked for various banks and companies as legal counsel. With many years of experience in international practice, Mr. Hasipoglu is one of the recognized attorneys in Northern Cyprus. In addition to his outstanding achievements Mr. Hasipoglu has participated in the top government related projects
Hasan Hasipoglu was a MP and he worked in the Legal Commission of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Parliament. In the attending period to the EU, Mr. Hasipoglu has various practices on the codification of Cyprus Laws with respect to the possible legal transition period of Northern Cyprus regulations.
2.Oguzhan Hasipoglu
Oguzhan Hasipoglu is the partner of the Firm. He is a graduate of Istanbul University Faculty of Law and he received his LL.M. degree in Maritime and Conflict of Laws from Southampton University, UK. During his stay in London, he had short-term experiences in various law firms. Mr. Hasipoglu’s previous post was at Altheimer & Gray’s Istanbul Office (currently known as “Salans”) where he had worked for 3 years and participated in major financing transactions, IT transactions, real estate transactions and disputes and M&A.
Mr. Hasipoglu mainly focuses on companies (off-shore business) and practices in the areas of International Trade, Foreign Investment/Joint Ventures, Banking, Project Finance, Tourism and Construction Laws, Merger and Acquisitions, Taxation, Shipping, Agency and Real Estate Laws.
3.Mustafa Akbilen Mustafa Akbilen is a partner of the Firm. He is a graduate of Istanbul University Faculty of Law and he received his LL.M. degree in International and Comparative Law from Vrije Universiteit, Brussels. Mr. Akbilen’s previous post was at Denton Wilde Sapte’s Istanbul Office “Denton Wilde Sapte and Guner” where he had worked for 6 years and participated in major M&A’s, joint ventures, capital markets transactions, energy and mining projects.
Mr. Akbilen mainly focuses on joint ventures and M&A’s (including offshore practices) and practices in the areas of Capital Markets, Foreign Investment, Banking, Project Finance and Real Estate Laws.
